Home Sweet Home

Some of you may have heard that we had been thinking about moving locations. We are truly excited to say that we will be staying put in our fabulous home at 32nd and Zuni for the time being. We've been growing and at times feel like we're busting at the seams, but when all was said and done we just could not find another space that had the right layout and the fantastic brick and urban setting of our current home. During the coming months we will be investing some time and effort into maximizing our current space so it's more comfortable for brides, family, and friends. We'll post some pictures as the changes occur and we would love to have you come by and visit!

Highlands Street Fair - June 14th

Don't miss the annual street fest in the heart of Highlands! There will be tons of yummy food, fun bands, and lots of great shopping to check out. We'll have a booth set up on 32nd between Julian and Lowell. If you're there, stop by and say hi!

A Wedding in Wonderland

The other night we attended the ISES Wedding Showcase at the Ritz Carlton and it was truly a spectacular event! The entire theme of the evening was based on Alice in Wonderland and Anna Be helped create a bridal look that would make anyone grin like a cheshire cat.

We had four models at the event wearing simple gowns from Nicole Miller, Vera Wang, Caroline DeVillo and Stephanie James. With the help of incredible hair styling by Erin Ferris, fabulous makeup, and completely over-the-top veils by Sara Gabriel - the models were transformed into a wacky, fashionable look. While the look was a little too much for a typical wedding, we did leave the event hoping that little elements from the day could be used in moderation for the average bride.

Our takeaways...

We've seen the colored sashes and think if you're going for a bit of the flair why not step it up a notch. For the reception make it fabulous with polka-dots, prints, or even a little preppy-striped grosgrain ribbon.

Hair extensions. If you've got short hair, a radical change can be made with a couple of extensions. And if it's too much, maybe it's just a fun look for the rehearsal dinner or bachelorette party.

Simple is not plain. We hear the concern all the time "too plain" "too boring" "not enough sparkle"... This event absolutely proved that you don't need a bedazzled gown to make a statement.

We have a winner!

You made a wish and it came true. Well, for one lucky bride at least. Congrats to Taegen McGurk! The drawing was held on December 29th and according to Taegen we "made [her] year!" when we called to tell her the good news. Taegen will receive a $2,500 credit towards her dream Vera Wang gown and she couldn't be more thrilled. What a fun way to end the year for Taegen and for us. Here at the Anna Be design studio, we recently had the pleasure of designing, planning, and coordinating Cindy and Mike's stylish wedding at Kevin Taylor at the Opera House. The venue is by far one of the most chic, urban settings in Denver - a perfect fit for the bride and groom.

Vera Wang. It's a name that is synonymous with bridal style. And for one weekend only, you can preview the spring 2008 collection. Appointments are required for the trunk show as we expect it to fill up quickly. Plus, all purchases during the weekend will receive a 10% discount on Vera Wang Bridal.

And We're One Year Older...

We're no longer the new kid on the block... This past weekend we celebrated our one-year anniversary with a splendid cake and yummy pastries from our good friends at The Makery(http://www.themakery.com/)! Let's Celebrate

Anna Be turns ONE this year! To celebrate, we're going to give away ONE fabulous bridal gown to ONE lucky bride!

Here's how it will work. The promotion begins November 23rd, 2007 and ends December 29th, 2007. To enter, brides must schedule an appointment during the promotion period with Anna Be and attend the appointment. At the appointment, the bride will receive one entry form with purchase of lingerie. There is a maximum of one (1) entry per person.

The winner will be chosen in a random drawing which will be held on the evening of December 29th, 2007. The winner will be notified via telephone and email. The winner has 30 days to claim the prize or it will be forfeited to a runner up. The prize is not transferable and must be used by the winner. The maximum value of the winning bridal gown is $2,500 before tax. If the gown is less than $2,500, the winner will not receive the difference. The prize applies to the base gown only and does not include any accessories or custom changes. The winner can elect to apply $2,500 credit towards a gown that retails for more than $2,500. The credit can only be applied to one gown and can not be used towards any other purchases including but not limited to bridesmaid dresses, accessories, and veils. Additionally, if the winner has chosen to purchase a gown between the dates of the promotion, the gown price or maximum value of $2,500 will be credited back.

Premier Bride Party

Premier Bride is one of the newest local bridal mags to come to Denver. We think it's also one of the best! It's got just the right amount of content and has plenty of helpful tips and insights about local spots. A couple of weeks ago, the magazine hosted a party and asked Anna Be to be the exclusive provider of the latest bridal fashions.

Fashion Show - Sunday November 11th at Grand Hyatt

Jonesing for Junko

We have an upcoming trunk show for Junko Yoshioka that should not be missed. We just got back from New York this last week and were able to preview the newest Junko Yoshioka collection and were absolutely blown away by the styles that we saw. These are incredible gowns that blend amazing fabrics and architectural details. It was a standing ovation at their runway show and we're sure that you'll be seeing these looks pretty soon in the pages of InStyle Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings and all of the other major publications. We're honored that we will be able to have the new collection in our store for the trunk show months long before they hit stores. The trunk show will be at Anna Be on Friday, November 9th and Saturday, November 10th. The COO from the company will be out here to personally represent the gowns. Appointments are required for this trunk show as we expect it to book up quickly. This is a limited opportunity to see this new collection. Trunk Show 101

The world of bridal shopping can often be confusing and a little bit hard to navigate...Gowns aren't stocked in your size, there are often more options than you can imagine, and at many salons appointments are required. Your wedding dress is a once in a lifetime purchase and so it makes sense that the entire experience would be different than your typical trip to the mall. One really special experience that shouldn't be missed is a trunk show!

We get asked all of the time what's a trunk show and why should I bother going to it? Historically, a trunk show was when the designer would visit the stores with a trunk filled with their latest designs and collections. Today, this idea has evolved a little bit, but the premise is still the same.

For a few days, the designer or a representative from the company will be available at the store to answer questions and show off the new and best gowns. This means that you get the opportunity to not only get the insider perspective, but you will be able to try on numerous gowns that aren't usually in the store.

And, of course, at all trunk shows we do a special trunk show discount of 10% for all purchases from the designer during the event. It truly is a fun, fabulous weekend not to be missed. In 2007, we'll be holding a trunk show for both Junko Yoshioka and Vera Wang. The 2008 calendar will be released soon.
